What the app stores — and where

• Practice data (answers, accuracy per note, streaks, XP, quest progress, your level, settings) is stored locally on your device. It is not uploaded to us or anyone else.
• No account exists. We never ask for your name, email, or any identifier.

Microphone (Real Piano mode)

• The microphone is used only while a Real Piano practice session is on screen, and only after you grant iOS permission.
• Audio is analyzed on-device, in real time to detect the pitch you played. It is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
• Denying microphone access leaves every other feature fully functional — the on-screen keyboard always works.

Sharing a practice summary

The Progress tab can generate a plain-text summary of your accuracy and weak notes for a teacher. It is created on your device and goes only where you send it via the iOS share sheet. We never see it.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through your App Store account. We receive no payment details. Entitlements are verified on your device using Apple's StoreKit; we operate no purchase server.

Analytics and tracking

• No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
• The app makes no network calls of its own. The only network activity is Apple's own App Store and StoreKit machinery.
• We do not collect data used to track you across apps or websites. The App Store privacy label for NoteTrail is “Data Not Collected.”

Children

NoteTrail does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. There is nothing to collect.

Data deletion

Because everything lives on your device, deleting the app deletes your data. There is no server copy to request or erase.

Changes

If a future feature changes any of the above (for example, optional cloud sync), this policy will be updated first and the feature will be opt-in.
